Harrod Donald Adams, 89, of Central Avenue, formerly of Baseline Road, died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Willow Crossing Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Bartholomew County, February 26, 1924, the son of the late Doris E. and Mildred Swango Adams.
Harrod was a lifelong resident of Bartholomew County and lived at home with his parents all his life. He was a retired farmer and an avid Purdue and Columbus basketball fan. He was of Christian faith and enjoyed the simple things in life.
He is survived by a niece, Jeannie (Alvin) Sitterding of Columbus; great-nephews, Joe (Traci) Sitterding of Columbus, and Tim (Jan) Sitterding of Freetown; great-great-niece and great-great-nephew, Julia Sitterding and Jacob Sitterding.
Harrod was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Eva Thomas.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Wes Jones officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
