Patricia Mary Schroeder, 52, died peacefully in her home in Hope, IN on August 14, 2013.
Patty cherished time with her family and friends loving all outings and celebrations, especially her birthday. Patty was delighted to go to school and work every day , and when retired, considered any job given her a joy. She saw her Down’s Syndrome as a privilege, showing the same grace to others by accepting them unconditionally and bringing happiness to many. Her absence is deeply felt.
She is survived by her much loved father, William Martin Schroeder of Columbus, IN ; brother William and Marilee Schroeder of Atherton, CA; brother Thomas and Barbara Schroeder of Cedar Rapids, IA; brother Stephen and Becky Schroeder of South Boston, VA; sister Mary Schroeder of Seattle, WA; sister Joan Schroeder of Edmonds, WA; sister Anne and Maxie Chevalier of Cheneyville, LA; sister Jeannette and Daniel Smith of Hope, IN; 16 nieces and nephews; 6+ great- nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Jeanne Schroeder.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
Memorial Mass given in Patricia's honor is on September 7th at 10 AM at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church by Rev. Douglas Marcotte followed by a Celebration of Life open house from 1 PM to 4 PM at Columbus Alliance Church on the corner of 13th and California. There will be a time of open sharing of memories at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to New Song Mission, an organization dedicated to rebuilding the lives of orphaned children of Indiana www.newsongmission.org.
