Cordelia (Shaw) Dobbs, 95 of Columbus, IN. died at 4:18 PM Friday, August 30, 2013 at Four Seasons Health Care Center.

Mrs. Dobbs was born in Shelby County, IN. on December 28, 1917 the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Kanouse Shaw.

She married Frederick H. Dobbs in Columbus, IN. on March 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2011.

Mrs. Dobbs was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She attended Garden City Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Common Grounds Garden Club. Mrs. Dobbs also enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida with her husband.

The funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Dobbs will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 03, 2013 at Myers-Reed Chapel at 3729 25th St., Columbus, IN. 47203 with Virgil Clotfelter officiating.

Calling hours will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM Tuesday.

Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.

Mrs. Dobbs is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Winford) Bowman and a son, Steve (Laura) Dobbs both of Columbus, IN.; a brother, William Shaw of Shelbyville, IN.; eight grandchildren, Diana, David, Chris, Clinton, Stephanie (Chris), Greg, Tim (Amanda) and Chris (Fiancé’, Kris); six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband of 69 years, Mrs. Dobbs was also preceded in death by a grandson; two sisters, Pauline Hill and Mary Lawless; and two brothers, Marshall and Ralph Shaw.
