Michael J. Tangman, 58, of Arkansas, formerly of Columbus, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
Born June 20, 1955 in Bluffton, he was the son of the late Rev. John W. Tangman and Marilyn (Scholl) Tangman who survives.
On May 7, 1977 at St. Paul Lutheran Church he married Cheryl Ann Plummer. She survives.
Mr. Tangman was a senior licensed architect with PB2 Architectural and Engineering in Rogers, Arkansas and was a member of the American Institute of Architects. He previously was employed with Dunlap & Company and Architect Group of Columbus, helping to design the Jay C Stores, fire departments, and schools in Columbus and Seymour.
Mike enjoyed his grandchildren and all the activities that you get to attend with growing grandchildren. He was an avid coin collector and his love of antiques gave him a curiosity about the past. He was a real history buff. Mike enjoyed his work and was always willing to help friends with the designs of their homes.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Stephanie Tangman, Jenna Tangman; grandchildren, Erica, Maya, Jada, and Austin; brother Matt (Trish) Tangman; nephew Evan Tangman; and niece Claire Tangman.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers, with the Rev. Stephen Wood officiating. Visitation will be at Voss Chapel on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at St Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers on Thursday after 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Borchers.
