Patti Jane Hoskins Owens, 55, of Columbus, died Sunday, September 1, 2013 in the place she loved best, on her boat at Patoka Lake.
She is dearly missed by her family and friends and we feel so blessed to have her in our lives as brief as it may have been. Patti was fiercely loyal and the epitome of compassion to family and friends. She also loved to have fun and brought joy to all those around her.
Patti was a member of the Columbus Baptist Church. She graduated from Columbus East High School in 1976 and later from Indiana Business College. She was employed at Sacoma and had previously worked at Columbus Regional Hospital. She loved fishing, boating and shopping. She was an avid Colts fan.
Patti was survived by her husband, Darrell Owens of Columbus; her parents, Richard and Stella Henry Hoskins of Columbus;her stepsons, Shane Owens of Paris Crossing and Patrick Wayne Owens of Columbus and step granddaughter, Katlynn Nicole Owens of Paris Crossing; her siblings, Nancy Seaborne of Columbus, Debbie (John) Baker of Gosport, Ron (Mary) Hoskins of Columbus, Karen (Brian) Hussong of Marion; her nieces and nephews Deana (Brett) Haworth of Greenwood, James (Stephanie) Seaborne of Columbus, Jason (Kara) Baker of Greenwood, Craig (Megan) Seaborne of Columbus, Rudy (Stormie) Eckstein of Greensburg, Dane Hoskins of Columbus and Anna Hussong of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her faithful companion Sable Millennium Prancer.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St. with Pastor Charles Kennedy officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be Flatrock Baptist Cemetery.
