Christopher “Chris” Tyler Nichols, 30, of Seymour passed away at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis on Sunday, September 1, 2013.

Born March 21, 1983 in Columbus,he was the son of Mark and Denise Christopher Nichols.

On July 11, 2009 in Columbus he married Betsy Jorgenson who survives.

Chris was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. He was a 2001 graduate of Seymour High School. While working as a welder for Toyota he was pursuing a degree in engineering.

Chris was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping out on the farm. He loved football.

Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Bernice Christopher, paternal grandmother, June Nichols; his father and mother-in-law, Jay and Dianne Flanagan Jorgenson; sisters, Lori (Kevin) Lister and Alyssa Nichols (fiancé Kyle Gentry); brothers-in-law, Danny and Teddy Jorgenson; and nephew Zachary Lister.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Roscoe Christopher; and paternal grandfather Elmer Nichols.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, Rev. Philip Bloch, and Rev. James Rodriguez officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Dudleytown.

Condolences may be sent to the family through Voss Funeral Service and memorials may be written to Trinity Lutheran High School Athletic Department, Wishard Hospital Burn Unit, or Donor’s Choice, all through Voss Funeral Service, Seymour, IN.
