Annetta Marie Staley, 66, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at 3:33 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana.
Mrs. Staley was born September 23, 1946, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of John and Juanita (Thurgood) Smith. She married John Allen Staley August 30, 1985. He preceded her in death August 27, 2013.
Mrs. Staley worked as a transcriptionist for Columbus Regional Hospital, retiring in 2010 after more than 30 years. She was a member of the Moose Lodge Women’s Auxiliary, enjoyed sports and was an avid Cincinnati Reds baseball and Indianapolis Colts football fan. She loved animals and was an extremely loving woman.
Survivors include two sons, Steven (Suzanne) Harrison of Milton, Florida, and David (Kimberly) Harrison of Jennings County, Indiana; two brothers, Donald (Debbie) Smith of Leander, Texas, and Johnny (Nancy) Smith of Columbus, Indiana; five grandchildren, Samantha and Michael Harrison of Milton, Florida, Stephanie Harrison of Noblesville, Indiana, Cody McCammon of Crothersville, Indiana, and Jody McCammon of North Vernon, Indiana; and three great-grandchildren, Brinley and Riley McCammon of Jennings County, Indiana, and Grace McCammon of Crothersville, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A memorial service for Annetta and her husband John will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon, Indiana. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until service time Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc.
