Mrs. Norma Jean McMillan, 90, of Seymour, passed away early Saturday evening, September 28, 2013.

Norma Jean was born August 26, 1923 in Clearspring, Ind., the daughter of the late Orville Blaine and Florence Mae (Fountain) Weddell.

On September 29, 1945 she married Harry Holmes McMillan who preceded her in death on March 28, 1970.

Norma Jean was a member of Central Christian Church of Seymour where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 35 years, a deaconess and a term on the church’s board. She worked for the JC Groub Company from 1942 to 1943; then she worked four years for the Seymour National Bank and served on Seymour National Bank’s board of directors and 28 years for Tiemeier’s Jewelry Store.

As an active member in the Seymour community, Norma Jean was a former member of the Eastern Star and the advisory board for the Rainbow Girls. Norma Jean served as a Girl Scout Leader for four years; president and member of the ESA Sorority, and president of the Girls’ Club Women’s Council.

Norma Jean is survived by her daughters, Pam (Tom) Tilford and Cathy (Randy) Hall, granddaughters, Rebecca Jean (Shane) Loper and Jennifer Leigh Tilford; and great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Isaiah Loper and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Norma Jean is preceded in death by her sisters, Inez Horstman, Vivian Becker and Geraldine Weddell; and a nephew, Larry Rogers.

Funeral services for Norma Jean will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Voss Chapel in Seymour, with entombment to follow at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, with a Voss Dove release.

Family and Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2013 and from 10 a.m. until time of the service Wednesday at Voss Chapel.

Condolences may be sent to the family through Voss Funeral Service and memorials may be written to Central Christian Church in Seymour or to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through Voss Funeral Service, Seymour.
