Barbara Wiethoff Guthrie, 64, of Seymour, passed away  October 1, 2013, surrounded by her family and friends.

Born September 15, 1949, in Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of Dr. Clifford A. Wiethoff and Mary Lou (Ferguson) Wiethoff. She married Frank W. Guthrie Aug. 22, 1970.

Barb attended Stephens College for one year and graduated in 1971 from Indiana University, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

During her life, in addition to her career as a homemaker and mother, Barb was a teacher for A Child's World Pre-School and a substitute teacher for Seymour Community Schools. She was a member of St Paul's Episcopal Church in Columbus, IN. Other memberships included All Thumbs Garden Club, Gamma Phi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority, Girl's Inc. Board of Directors, Schneck Medical Guild, Seymour Parks & Recreation Board of Directors for more than 30  years, and Jackson County Community Theater, starring in plays such as "Nun Sense," "My Fair Lady," and "Plaza Suite," among others.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; her children, Frank W. (Sarah Wintin) Guthrie II and Ryan C. Guthrie; granddaughter, Evelyn Kyncade Wintin Guthrie; a sister, Janet S. (Jim) Price; brothers, Richard A. (Mary) Wiethoff and John C. Wiethoff; a sister-in-law, Carol L. Guthrie; six nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a beloved nephew, Joel P. Price.

Funeral services will be held at St Paul's Episcopal Church, 2651 California Street, Columbus, on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., with Father Marc Vance officiating. Friends may call at Voss Funeral Chapel in Seymour from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013, and 90 minutes before the service at the church on Saturday. Burial service will be at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, IN, at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013.

Condolences may be sent to the family through Voss Funeral Service and memorial contributions may be made to Schneck Medical Hospice, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Girl’s Inc. of Jackson County, or Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Jackson County, through Voss Funeral Service, Seymour, IN.
