Miss Laikyn Victoria Field, 16, of North Vernon, passed away at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis, Saturday, October 5, 2013, with her family by her side.
Born December 9, 1996, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Kandle Caplinger (Jason) Bowerly and Kevin (Kelli Moore) Field, who all survive.
Laikyn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers. She was a sophomore at Jennings County High School where she was active in the all-girls choir, the Dominics. Her love for art led her into drawing and photography. She enjoyed going to the Brownstown Race Track and was the 2012 Fun Fest Princess.
Laikyn loved music, singing and texting.
She is also survived by her brother, Noah Gregory; sister, Sydney Gregory; maternal grandparents, Mark and Sharon Percival, Mona Huckelberry and the late Mike Huckelberry, and Dale Caplinger; paternal grandparents, Marvin and Janet Field; great-grandparents, William and Agnes Dailey, Wilbur and Nona Jaynes, and Mara Graves; aunts and uncles, Jeremiah and Brittany Percival, Chris Caplinger, Craig Caplinger, Cameron Caplinger, Belinda Bell, Jerry and Michelle Davis, Roger and Tami Field, David and Karen Rockey, and Ryan Field; and several great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, on Friday, October 11, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Craig Muhlbach officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Voss Chapel in Seymour on Thursday, October 10, from 3 to 8 p.m. and at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
