Dorothy Vance, 84, died Friday, October 4, 2013, at Willow Crossing of Columbus, IN, where she was a resident for the past three and a half years.
Born in Elwood City, PA, October 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George R. Main and Viola (Flenner) Dougherty.
She is survived by a sister, Vallie Williams of Carmel; her daughter, Deborah (John) DeJarnette of Columbus; a son, Jeffery Whisler of Arlington, Texas; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013, at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery in Indianapolis, with calling from 1 p.m. until service time. Suzanna R. Helms, Pastor of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Arrangements were entrusted to Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery.
