Mae M. Dismore, 96, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Hickory Creek of Scottsburg. She was born May 24, 1917, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Anthony Martin and Catherine Frances (Merisch) Cook.
Mae was a retired cook at Scottsburg High School, a former employee of the old Montgomery Hotel and the old Scott Theatre. She was a member of Scottsburg First Christian Church and a former member of the Ida Rebekah Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice L. "Bernie" Dismore; two brothers, Raymond and Clifford Cook and a sister, Marie Babbs.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma Hosea and her husband John of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sons, Larry Dismore and his wife Rita of Lexington, Indiana, and Gary Dismore and his wife Beth Ann of Columbus, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg with burial at Scottsburg Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Mae's church or Scott County Relay for Life.
