Ludeana Gail "Lu" Derringer, 59, of Columbus, died at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at her home.
Lu was a 1972 graduate of Columbus North High School and earned an associates degree from IUPUI. She last worked at the American Legion Post 24 in Columbus and she was an active member of ABATE and also was a member of the American Legion. She was totally devoted to her favorite person, her daughter Shaunna. She had a passion for riding her Harley Davidson and she loved her dogs and cats.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Miracle Ride Foundation benefiting Riley Hospital for Children.

Born in Columbus February 24, 1954, Mrs. Derringer was the daughter of Alva Dean and Wanda Mae Miller Shroyer. She married William R. "Bill" Derringer May 14, 1988. He preceded her in death January 7, 2012.
Lu is survived by her daughter, Shaunna Sanders and her companion, Aaron Hacker of Roachdale; a brother, Lee (Nena) Harris of Columbus; one of her best friends and first cousin, Linda (William D.) Foster Cox of Columbus; and several other cousins and relatives.
Mrs. Derringer was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
