Peggy Regina Norris, 76, of Columbus, died at 7:17 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013 in the emergency room of Columbus Regional Hospital.
She was born in Borden, July 31, 1937, the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Waggnor Durham. She married Ralph James Norris in New Albany in February, 1956. He preceded her in death in 1981.
She was a former employee of Kimball Office Furniture in Borden and was the president of Rockford Fish and Game in Seymour and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Salem. Peggy also loved to camp on the White River, go to flea markets and was an avid reader. She was a special grandmother to her grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by daughters, Teresa (Paul) Milby of Pekin, Tami Graves of Henryville, and Kathryn (Jerry) Spears of Salem; her loving companion of 30 years, Ernest Myers of Columbus; her sons, Doug, Dean and Neil (Billy) Myers; a brother, Vernice "Winker" Durham of Pekin; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street.
In keeping with Peggy's wishes, she will be cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
