Perry R. "PR" Miller, 88, of Louisville, Ky., passed away November 12, 2013, surrounded by his loved ones.
Perry was a native of Louisville, a graduate of Louisville Male High School, attended Centre College, and was a graduate of the University of Louisville. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart recipient.
He served as Commissioner of Financial Institutions during the Wendell Ford administration and retired after 15 years of public service in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Perry was a member of the Kiwanis Club and a lifelong member of the Louisville Boat Club. Playing tennis, watching sports, and caring for his family were a few of his passions.
He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Bertie Clark Miller. Survivors include his children, Jean House, James Miller, and Tom Miller; a nephew, Clark Watts; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Perry's life will be held at Mick Tarullo's home Saturday, November 16, 2013, starting at 12:30 p.m.
Private burial will be held in Cave Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made out to a charity of choice.
