Beth Elaine Smith, 73, of Scipio, Indiana, passed away at 5:23 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Smith was born November 22, 1939, in Rocky River, Ohio, the daughter of the late George C. and Grace J. Sorensen Jones. She married Rev. Kenneth J. Smith Sr. December 8, 1957, in Las Vegas Nevada. He preceded her in death February 24, 2010.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, gardening, reading and traveling. She was a 1957 graduate of Prescott High School in Prescott, Arizona, and was a former 20-year member at the House of Prayer in Elizabethtown, Indiana

Survivors include one son, Kenneth (Vickie) Smith Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Jessica (Dale) Corum of Louisville, Kentucky, and Desiree’ (Mike) Bennett of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Sharon Louise (Bailne) Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Shelby Corum of LaGrange, Kentucky, David Hockenbury of Louisville, Kentucky, Tripp Corum of Atlanta, Georgia, Kara Hockenbury of Louisville, Kentucky, Dylan Smith and Grace Rogge’-Smith, both of Jacksonville, Florida, Maddie Bennett and Nate Bennett, both of St. Charles, Missouri; and two great-grandchildren, Mikya Corum and Jayden Corum, both of LaGrange, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m.  Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon, Indiana, with the Rev. Robert Lay officiating. Friends may call at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon, Indiana, on Saturday, November 16, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana.
