William A. Cox, 82, formerly of Columbus, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care in Greenwood. He was born Aug. 26, 1931.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Cox Sr. and Flossie May Cox, and a brother, James Cox.
He married Marjorie Jean Miller Jan. 9, 1950. She preceded him in death Dec. 16, 2012.
William is survived by brothers, Ralph (Dee) Cox Jr. of Ohio, Marlin Cox Sr., and Clarence (Sheila) Cox, both of Columbus. Also surviving are children, Michael (Marty) W. Cox of Indianapolis, Wanda K. Cox, Donna Dean, and Betty (Ron) Johnson, all of Columbus, Michele Lynn (Mike) Sample of Whiteland, and Paula Bensheimer of Columbus. He also had 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
William served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked over 30 years at Cummins Engine Co., until he retired.
His last request was for cremation and no service.
