Sara Lois Hime, 86, of Greensburg, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Sara was born June 23, 1927, in Decatur County, the daughter of John William and Elizabeth Helen Norris. She was a 1945 graduate of Burney High School. On February 19, 1946, Sara married Paul E. Hime in Hartsville, IN, and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2006.
Sara was a homemaker, but also served as a childcare provider. She was a member of the Burney United Methodist Church and Candle Lighter’s Homemakers Club and also enjoyed sending cards and letters to people and babysitting.
Survivors include her daughter, Judith Paulette Sexton of Columbus, IN; two sons, Mickey J. Hime Sr. of Fairland, IN, and Scott (Vicky) Hime of Greensburg, IN; one sister, Nancy (John Menefee) Owens; one brother, William (Carol) Norris; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; one sister, Jane Stephens; and one great-great-grandson, Blake Wicks.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg. Sara’s funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25, at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Milford Cemetery.
