Ronald Amon Bussell, 78, of Camelot Lane, passed from this life at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Bussell was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a lieutenant with the Detroit Fire Department, retiring in 1982 after 25 years of service.
Mr. Bussell was formerly employed at Columbus Regional Hospital, was a former youth baseball coach and was a former hospice volunteer. He enjoyed reading and walking.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Father Doug Marcotte officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
Cremation is planned following the funeral service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, Columbus Regional Hospital Cancer Center or Mill Race Center.

Born in Detroit, Michigan April 17, 1935, Mr. Bussell was the son of John P. and Anna Lucilla Krasowski Bussell. He married Carol M. Heavner March 1, 1958.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years; children, Connie (James) of Bartlett, Tenn., Patti of Crossville, Tenn., and Ron (Arinda) of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren, Chad (Tabatha), Kristopher, Jeffrey, Dustin, Adam, Breanna, Brittnay, Emily, and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Siera, Brody, and Mason; a brother, Mel Musland of Eastpointe, Mich.; and a sister, Mary Lou (Richard) Gentry of Roseville, Mich.
Mr. Bussell was preceded in death by his parents.
