Judith Faye "Judy" Proffitt, 66, of Columbus, died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at I.U. Health in Indianapolis.
Judith was born on September 21, 1947 to the late James C. and Mary Juanita Payne Nunn in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was formerly employed at Armor Security, Executive Inn, Camp Atterbury Job Corps, and as a beautician. Judith enjoyed animals, especially her dog Skeeter. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Judith loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
In keeping with Judith's wishes cremation is planned following the service. Burial will be at St. Andrews Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.

Survivors include her children, Travis (Beth) Proffitt of Fairdale, Kentucky, and Misty Goodman of Kokomo; grandchildren, Lucas Stpehanus, and Jaden Goodman; sisters, Sharon Newby of Brownsburg, Jerri (Craig) Curless of Indianapolis, and Teresa Navarrette of Virginia; seven nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and an aunt, Doris Thomas of Louisville, Kentucky.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents.
