Laura M. (Artis) Ratzburg, age 77 passed away Saturday morning, November 30, 2013 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Nashville.
Laura was born in Clifford, Indiana on January 4, 1936 to her parents, the late Forrest E. and Flora N. (Morrow) Artis. She was a 1954 graduate of Columbus High School and went on to marry Edward Herman Ratzburg Sr. on February 12, 1955 in Plymouth, Wis. Edward preceded her in death on February 26, 2007 after 52 devoted years of marriage.
Laura was a loving wife, homemaker and mother. She attended the Sprunica Baptist Church in Brown County and enjoyed collecting antiques and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Laura was a fan of country music, wrestling and the beauty of Brown County. She was also known for her great cooking and baking.
Laura is survived by her children, Brian S. Ratzburg of Martinsville, Michael J. (Rose) Ratzburg, Randolph H. Ratzburg, Edward (Jennifer) Ratzburg Jr., Anthony W. Ratzburg, Christopher L. (Michele) Ratzburg and Virginia (Miles) Neill, all of Nashville, and Cheryl (Larry) Scoggan of Nineveh; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one granddaughter, Brittany Ratzburg.
The Rev. Danny Law Jr. will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom.
