Jane Ann Flis, 52, of Indianapolis, formerly of Columbus, died unexpectedly at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at St. Francis South Campus in Indianapolis.
Jane lived in Indianapolis 23 years and had been employed as a vice president at First Indiana Bank. She also owned and operated her own catering company, Spud's Dream," for many years.
While living in Columbus and growing up, Jane was very active in Garden City Church of Christ. Currently, she was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Indianapolis where she had served on the Parish Council. She also was the volunteer coordinator at Manual High School and volunteered with the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation and at the Traverse City Film Festival.
Funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Born in Columbus April 7, 1961, Jane was the daughter of David Burt Jr. and Joan Elizabeth Plase Burt. She married Richard J. Flis Jr. March 31, 1990, at St. Catherine Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Kathleen (wife Sarah Collins) Paul, Bloomington, and Kristine (longtime partner Billy Snyder) Paul, Moab, Utah; a son, Joshua (Holly) Paul, Bloomington; and a brother, Scott Burt (Rebecca Hodapp), Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joan Elizabeth Plase Burt on May 6, 2008, and David Burt Jr. on Oct. 4, 2013.
