Lois M. Hammans Merideth, 89, of Columbus, died at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.
Lois was a homemaker and a longtime member of First Christian Church where she was active in the Loyal Couples Class.
Private services will be held at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Dan Wallace officiating. Private entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Born in Martinsville June 22, 1924, Lois was the daughter of Leon Carmer Hammans and Elizabeth Ruby Pearcy Hammans. She married Ralph P. Meridth Dec. 24, 1940, in Martinsville. He preceded her in death Oct. 7, 2007.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Ann Merideth (Stephen) Spinner, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Todd David Merideth of Bluffton, SC, Lisa (Todd) McNealy of Columbus and Christopher (Mandi) Ham of Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Seth Alexander McNealy, Christopher Ham, Mackenzie Grace Ham, Charles David Ham and Jacob Stanley Ham; and a sister, Elizabeth Cordes, Martinsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ronald Douglas Merideth, on April 20, 2010; two sisters, Alice Stratton and Mary Margaret Whitlow; and a brother, Bill Hammans.
