Joan (Hedley) Link, 81, of Bedford, formerly of Terre Haute and Columbus, died at 1:14 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2013, at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born June 11, 1932, in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of Harry and Helen (Baker) Hedley. She married Fred W. Link on January 26, 1952, and he survives.
Joan was a former librarian at Columbus East High School and long distance telephone operator. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Bedford.
Survivors include her husband, Fred, of Bedford; a daughter, Lana LaGrange and husband, John, of Bedford; a son, Bruce Link of Crossville, TN; four grandchildren, Michael LaGrange, Stephanie Link, Heather Motley and Brian LaGrange; a sister, Martha Shaw of Dawsonville, GA; two great-grandchildren, Adelyn LaGrange and Landon Motley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Brent LaGrange and Steven Link; a brother, Harry Hedley; and a sister, Margaret Meighen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, at First Assembly of God in Bedford with Pastors Glenn Duncan and Bill McKee officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, at Day & Carter Mortuary.
