Lucille (Briner) Rhude, 95, of Columbus, formerly of Crothersville, passed away at 8:23 p.m., Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus.
Born August 14, 1918 on the family farm in Crothersville, she was the daughter of Otto L. and Maude E. (Briner) Briner.
On March 5, 1937, at the home of Pastor Walter Mosley, she married James F. Rhude, who passed away on September 8, 1971.
Lucille was a 1936 Crothersville High School graduate, a member of First Baptist Church of Crothersville where she was a active member singing in the choir, former treasurer of the church for a brief period and attended the Eveready Sunday School class. She retired from the former U.S. Shoe Corp and also worked at Morgan Canning factory.
She is survived by three children, Robert D. (Judith) Rhude of Columbus, Janet Gayle (Roger) Nehrt of Crothersville, and Maryilyn (Nick) Petrycki of North Canton, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Rebecca (Greg) Deuerling of Batavia, Ill., Marcia (Troy) Cheek of Columbus, Janelle (E.B.) Rawles of Sandborn, Kevin (Janelle) Nehrt of Midland, Mich., Joe (Amy) Petrycki of Mansfield, Ohio, Jamie (Angie) Petrycki of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Jennifer (James) Belcik of North Ridgeville, Ohio; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven siblings, Clarice Beineke, Harold Briner, Earl Briner, Lois Briner, Edna Meryl Myers, Marian Boicourt, and Everett Briner.
Reverend Jon Pearce will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Adams Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
