Carol Lynn Chapman, 67, of Fox Trail Lane, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at her residence.
Carol was born on August 26, 1946 in Columbus to Burley L. and Helen E. Hawley Stoner. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1964. Carol attended Milligan College in Tennessee and Ivy Tech Community College. She was a member of the Internal Order of Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star, WIBC Bowling and the Memorial Baptist Church. Carol held several records and trophies from the Columbus City Bowling Tournament.
A funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Cheri Grizzard officiating.
Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National MS Society or to the American Diabetes Association.

Carol is survived by her children, Chris Chapman of Columbus, and Casi (Chris) Mendenhall of Lexington; his mother, Helen E. Stoner of Columbus; grandchildren, Haley M. Chapman, Isabella Chapman, and Carol Ann Mendenhall; brothers, John Stoner of Columbus, and Steve Stoner of Freetown; a sister, Lori Browning of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Burley L. Stoner.
