Frances E. Low, 91, of Greensburg, passed away at 6:42 p.m. on December 28, 2013, at Crownpointe Assisted Living Center. She was born March 6, 1922, in Rush County, the daughter of Wilmot and Iola Isabelle (Judd) Marshall.
In 1931, Mrs. Low moved to Decatur County. She married Dean E. Low on August 2, 1942, in Vernon, and they celebrated their 55th anniversary prior to his death on July 12, 1997.
Frances was a homemaker. She loved to visit with family and friends and enjoyed baking, gardening, growing flowers and making crafts. She was a member of Fredonia Church where she served as a song leader, taught primary, teen and adult classes over the years, and also worked with the youth group.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Johnnie (Ellen) Callahan of Westport; a granddaughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Tina) Kramer of Greensburg; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Stacy Kramer of Greensburg; a sister-in-law, Eunice Low of Westport; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Charles, Perry, John and Elmer Marshall; and sisters, Selma Williams, Goldie Shelby, Hazel Morris and Louise Case.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with the Rev. Connie Barr officiating. There will be visitation from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Westport Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Decatur/Shelby County.
