Mr. DeJarnette “D.J.” Knotts, 66, of Seymour, formerly of Columbus, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014, at his residence.
Born March 11, 1947, in Louisville, KY, he was the son of Dr. Slater Knotts and Mary Helen (DeJarnette) Knotts.
Mr. Knotts was a graduate of Columbus North High School and Ball State University. He was an environmental scientist with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. He loved following sports on both the collegiate and professional level, especially the Colts and the Pacers. He was an avid golfer, but his greatest enjoyment was gathering with his family on weekends.
He is survived by his children, Brayton Knotts and Ashley (B.J.) Moore; grandchildren, Brandon and Bailey Knotts, Blake and Wyatt Moore; brothers, Clayton (Sherry) Knotts and David (Cindy) Knotts; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Wednesday, January 8, at noon. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
