Donald Eugene Michaels, 67, of Edinburgh, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Michaels was owner and operator of Don's Auto in Edinburgh for more than 40 years. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966-68, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He attended Whosoever Will Community Church in Edinburgh and was a member of Edinburgh American Legion No. 233.
He was a devoted grandfather, a Corvette enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows and watching football.
Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Whosoever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh, with the Rev. Lewis Burton and the Rev. Mark Myers officiating. Calling will be at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
Born in Bartholomew County March 12, 1946, Mr. Michaels was the son of Jason Michaels and Ruby A. Followell Michaels. He married Jo Ann Burton Jan. 30, 1966.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Clinton (Cindy) Michaels of Edinburgh; a daughter, Dessica "Dustie" Sharp (fiance Randy Morphew) of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Tyler Money, Brooke Michaels, Desirae Michaels, Alyssa Michaels and Dustie Sharp; and sisters, LaVerne Williams Burton of Edinburgh, Wanda Jean (Shelton) Beck of Columbus and Cindy (Mark) Dickey of Edinburgh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jason "Jake" Michaels; a brother, the Rev. Robert Earl Michaels; and sisters, Sue Burton, Lois Burton and Connie Eastham.
