Wanda James Hammer, 81, of Elizabethtown, KY, formerly of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Kensington Manor in Elizabethtown.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Scott Funeral Homes North Chapel, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wanda was an active member of Wall Street United Methodist Church, Tri Kappa Sorority and Apet Shrine of Clarksville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cebert and Helen James.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Charles H. Hammer; two sons, Dr. Brian C. Hammer and his wife Jill of Elizabethtown, KY, and Michael Hammer and his wife Denise of Columbus, IN; a brother, C.B. James and his wife Linda of Floyds Knobs, IN; her grandchildren, TJ, Kelsie, Kaitlyn, Kyle and Mackenzie; and one great-grandchild, Aiden.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can take the form of contributions to Wall Street United Methodist Church in Jeffersonville, IN. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
