Ruby Timbrook Isaacs, 95, of Columbus, died at 3:15 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
She was born in Brown County, March 20, 1918, the daughter of the late Wesley and Delistia Axom Terrell. She married Denzel D. Timbrook on Nov. 17, 1934. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1993. She then married Earl Isaacs on Feb. 14, 2001, and he survives.
She was an inspector at Cummins Engine Company for 35 years, retiring in 1976. She was also a member of East Columbus Christian Church, and loved her yard, flowers, fishing and birds.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a daughter, Nancy L. Wilkerson of Columbus; a son, Tony L. Timbrook of Hope; grandchildren, Pamela Schaefer of Scottsburg, Jack D. (Shelly) Wilkerson Jr., of Nashville, Tenn., Jill D. (John) Muncy of Edinburgh, and Shane C. (Rachael) Wilkerson of Columbus; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Ron Bridgewater officiating. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
