Gregory Gene “Greg” Armstrong, 62, of Columbus, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Greg had owned and operated Armstrong Appliance Service since 1985 when his father, Arthur, retired. He enjoyed fishing, golf and mushroom hunting.
A private family celebration of life is planned. There will be no calling.
In keeping with Greg’s wishes, cremation is planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice of animal rescue groups.
Arrangements were made by Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street.

Born in Columbus Nov. 29, 1951, Greg was the son of Arthur L. and Minnie I. Smith Armstrong. He married Starla Dowdy Dec. 10, 1983, in Brown County.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Lori (Christopher) Stow, Jacksonville, FL; son, Erik Pagragan, Columbus; sister, Carolyn (Mark) Smith, Brown County; brothers, Steve (Connie) Armstrong, Columbus, and Mark (Michelle) Armstrong, Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Sophia Bassett and Caleb Stow, Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Winnie I. Smith Armstrong, on Nov. 21, 1988, and his father, Arthur L. Armstrong, on March 16, 2006.
