Travis Eugene Snyder, 36, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014, of a massive heart attack while working in Madison, Indiana. He was employed as a contractor.
Born August 6, 1977, in Columbus, Travis was the son of Becky Baxter Clayburn and Larry E. Snyder. He served in the U.S. Army from 1997 to 2000 and loved IU basketball and baseball.
The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation is planned following the service.
Survivors include his mother, Becky, of Columbus; his father, Larry, of Seymour; his fiancee, Josie Hampton, and her children, Tayler Dover and Keaton Hampton, of Columbus; a sister, Laura (Zach Voelz) of Columbus; a brother, Scott (Stephanie) Snyder of Missouri; grandfathers, Morris Baxter of Columbus and Oliver Snyder of Columbus; nieces, Alex Snyder, Cheyenne Snyder, Maci Snyder, and Isabela Rodarte; nephews, Arin Snyder, Nathan Snyder and Pete Rodarte; uncles, Wade Baxter of Michigan, Roy (Dee Dee) Baxter of Winchester, IN, and Richard (Linda) Snyder of Columbus; aunts, Cindy (Joe) Snyder Chanley of Illinois and Jackie Jo Snyder Maggard of North Vernon; a great-uncle, Jack Snyder of Columbus; cousins, Mark, Michael, Nick and Jacob Baxter, Jasper Beavers, Tyler Maggard, Michael and Ricky Cockerham, Emily Chanley, and Erich and David Snyder; and a great-niece, Karma Clough.
Travis was preceded in death by grandmothers, Edell Baxter and Ruth Snyder; and a cousin, Lindsey Marie Baxter.
