Bernard Charles Atkinson, 70, died at home on Friday, January 31st, 2014 after a long illness.
Born in 1943. He grew up in Columbus, IN.
He and wife Marietsa graduated from Columbus High School. He lived for thirty years with his family in Newton, MA . Lately he lived with his wife in Brighton, MA. He attended Indiana University and Oxford University with degrees in Labor Studies.
He founded QualityWorks, a market research firm, following years as a V.P. at General Cinema Corp. He said his favorite career was Adjunct Professor at Boston University, teaching graduate level Business courses 1990 to 2008. He enjoyed being on the Mass Arts & Humanities Board for many years.
He will be much missed and was much loved by family and friends. He leaves wife Marietsa Theobald Atkinson; a son Benjamin and daughter-in-law Karen; a daughter, Rachel and son-in-law Jacob Chapman; grandchildren, Grady, Harper, and Moira; and a sister, Maris and her husband, Rocky Johnson.
