Kathryn D. (Gooding) Beals, 94 of Columbus, IN. formerly of Orleans, IN. died at 6:30 pm Wednesday, February 05, 2014 at Four Seasons Health Care Center.

Mrs. Beals was born January 13, 1920 in Orange County, IN. the daughter of the late John and Lena Wolfe Gooding.

She married Joseph O. “Duke” Beals August 19, 1965 in Paoli, IN. and he preceded her in death on February 06, 2010.

Mrs. Beals retired from Hall Trucking Company in Orleans, IN. where she was a bookkeeper.

She was a member of the Orleans United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star and Phi Beta Sorority.

Mrs. Beals enjoyed gardening, traveling and shopping.

The funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Beals will be conducted at 12:00 noon Saturday February 08, 2014 at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home in Orleans, IN. with Rev. Michael Williams officiating.

Calling hours will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service Saturday.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Orleans, IN.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Orleans United Methodist Church or Columbus Regional Hospital Foundation.

Mrs. Beals is survived by three grandsons, Andy Myers, Jay (Peggy) Myers and Matt (Kyra) Myers; a granddaughter, Molly Myers; six great grandchildren, Brett, Jarred, Betsy, J.D., Kolsen and Nash Myers; a daughter-in-law, Martha Myers; three sisters, Dorothy (Bill) Sanders, Wanda Ferrell and Charlotte (Harold) Lane; a brother, Mike (Connie) Gooding and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband of 44 years, Mrs. Beals was also preceded in death by her son, John R. Myers on August 29, 1999.
