Russell Lee West, 65, of Muncie, died at 5:11 a.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014, at his home in Columbus.
He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, June 29, 1948, the son of the late Russell and Margaret R. "Peggy" Foist West. He married Mary Lou Froedge in April, 1979, and she survives.
Russell was a member of ABATE, and a member of Teamsters 364 in Elkhart. He loved Harley-Davidson Motorcycles.
In addition to his wife, Russell is also survived by sons, Jesse (Alex) West of Elkhart, Ben (Misty) Burton of Columbus, and Anthony Todd Ping of Muncie; daughters, Sunanda (David) Shelton of Nashville, Reshia (Mike) Mullinix of Eaton, and Candi Ping of Elkhart; a sister, Kathy (Fred) Spicer of Elkhart; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bill West.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Jones officiating. Calling will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice of charities. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery in Shelby County.
