Lorraine F. Gordon of Greenwood, formerly of Greensburg passed away on February 13, 2014 at home under hospice care. She was born on May 14, 1929 in Illinois to the late John S. and Lyda (Fultz) Preuss.

She was preceded in death by son, Stephen R. Gordon; daughter, Patricia A. Gordon (twin sister to Joyce); brother, John R. Preuss Sr.; and sisters, Helen Cathey and Margaret McKell.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Roy; a daughter, Joyce (Bob) Gilmore of Jackson, Mich.; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Ed) Kline, of Holland, Mich.; a great-grandson, Kyle Kline of Holland, Mich.; a sister, Marion Harrison of Columbus; a brother, James (Kathy) Preuss of Greensburg; and sisters-in-law, Edna Tilley of Columbus and Trudy Gordon of Greenfield. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many close friends.

Lorraine was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and godmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She took care of family members when they were gravely ill and was always there to be a “mother” figure to many people. She enjoyed going to K of C dances, vacationing on the Gulf Coast, and reading. Lorraine was an avid sports fan. She had her favorite NASCAR drivers, basketball teams and football teams. Besides living in Indiana, she and Roy lived in Bryan, Texas and Williamsport, Penn., where they have many friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Greenwood Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood, on Wednesday, February 19th at 10 a.m. Father Francis Joseph will officiate. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. Visitation will be at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 West Main St. on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.

The family would like to thank St. Francis Hospital and Hospice for their compassionate care. Also, with deep gratitude a very special thanks to the many neighbors who gave their time and support when it was greatly needed.
