Phyllis J. Hovden, 82, of 32nd Street, died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Hovden retired in 1988 from the Social Security Administration where she was a Claims Representative. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and loved carnations, cats, Court TV and crosswords.
She faithfully ran the race that was set before her and will be missed terribly.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Patrick Galligar officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to time of service Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society.

Mrs. Hovden was born in Dudleytown, Indiana, on January 19, 1932, the daughter of Emil and Winnie Bruemmer Lahne. She married William R. Hovden on May 29, 1955.
Survivors include her husband; and daughter, Julie (Royce) Hovden-Jordan of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ethel Mohney.
