Max Low, 73, of Hartsville, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at his residence. He was born February 24, 1940, in Westport, the son of Morris Henry and Georgia Ann (Palmer) Low.
Max was a Hartsville area resident for the past 40 years. "Grandpa Mac" was a beloved husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a true family man and loved spending every moment with his children and grandchildren.
Max made a tremendous impact on every life he came in contact with, especially his grandchildren. He meant the world to his family and will live on in their hearts and memories forever. We love you, Grandpa Mac. Thank you!
Max married Sharon Kay Mozingo December 17, 1960, in North Vernon, Indiana, and she survives, along with his sons, Mike (Barbara) Low of Flat Rock and Jeff (Bobbi) Low of Hartsville; his daughter, Tammy (Rob) Frownfelter of Hartsville; his grandchildren, Rick, Josh, Colten, Chelsea, Darrian, Seth and Olivia; his great-granddaughter, Harley Jo; and his two brothers and four sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Greg Low.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with the Rev. Charles Cole officiating. Burial will be at Union Baptist Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday.
