Neola J. Lord, 75, of Nashville, died at 8:24 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014 at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born in Ogilville, May 8, 1938, the daughter of the late Jesse and Ethel Morrison Williams. She married William S. "Bill" Lord on June 18, 1965, and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2007.
Neola was a member of Moosle Lodge #398 in Columbus. She loved life, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by sons, Dirk Eugene (Shirl) Lord of Newark, Delaware, and William Darin (Kay) Lord of Columbus; a daughter, Toni D. (Jim) Taylor of Columbus; grandchildren, Megan Marie Newberry and Ryan Christopher Lord; a great-grandchild, LouElla Newberry; brothers, Jim (Alma) Williams of Columbus, and Don (Carol) Williams of Columbus; sisters, Gloria (Russel) Allman of Seymour, Joyce Ludwig of North Vernon, and Jearldine Eickleberry of Columbus; and her loving companion, Henry Stott of Columbus.
Neola was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Valerie Lord Girse; a brother, Jesse Williams; and sisters, Violet Brashears, Bea Lewis and Leat Newkirk.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at Ogilville St. Paul Methodist Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
