Savannah Raye Akemon, 16, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born January 28, 1998, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Shawn Ryan Akemon and Staci (Huff) Akemon-Bontrager.
She loved music.
Savannah was preceded in death by four great-grandfathers, Michael Foist, Wallace Floyd, Robert Akemon and Wilmer Hoene, and two great-grandmothers, Esther Akemon and Mabel Hoene.
Survivors include her mother, Staci Akemon-Bontrager of Scottsburg, Indiana; her father and stepmother, Shawn and Pamela Akemon of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, Malachi and Hunter Akemon, both of Scottsburg, Indiana; a stepbrother, Xavier Beatrice of Scottsburg, Indiana; her maternal grandparents, Chuck and Susan Huff of Seymour, Indiana; her paternal grandparents, Phil and Jennie Hoene of Seymour, Indiana; her paternal grandfather, Robert Akemon of Lexington, Indiana; her stepgrandparents, Michael and Veronica Abbott of Scottsburg, Indiana; and her great-grandparents, Jim and Doris Huff, Nikki Foist and Jean Floyd, all of Seymour, Indiana.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg with burial to follow at Scottsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and after noon Sunday at Collins Funeral Home.
