Charles Eugene White Sr., 89, of Nashville, died at 9:37 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at his home.
Mr. White was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged January 24, 1947. A longtime truck driver, he was a member of Teamsters Local No. 135.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike. In keeping with Mr. White's wishes, cremation will take place following the visitation. No funeral service is planned.

Born in Bartholomew County August 8, 1924, Mr. White was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Petro White. He married Valaria Eva Davis June 30, 1949. She preceded him in death September 13, 1992.
Mr. White is survived by his children, Charles E. White Jr. of Nashville and Georgia (Pat) Murry of Helena, Montana; grandchildren, Kim Hutchinson of Rushville, Janice Wright of Greensburg, G.W. Alexander of Boulder, Montana, and Dereck (Tia) Alexander of Columbus; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a great-grandson, Tyler Newton; and several brother and sisters.
