Jeffrey Allen Gosney Sr., 73, of Edinburgh, died at 2:18 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Kindred Indianapolis South in Greenwood.
Mr. Gosney was a 1959 graduate of Edinburgh High School and retired in 2001 from Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus after 38 years of service. He was a member of Edinburgh United Methodist Church and had made cemetery flower baskets for friends and families for 46 years.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Edinburgh United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sean Johnson officiating. Calling will be at the church from 5 p.m. until service time Thursday. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. April 4 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Memorial contributions may be made to Edinburgh United Methodist Church, 107 W. Campbell St., Edinburgh, IN 46124.
Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
Born in Indianpolis April 15, 1940, Mr. Gosney was the son of H. Earl Gosney and Madeline Lewis Gosney. He married Sharon Farr Feb. 18, 1962.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeffrey Allen Gosney Jr. of Edinburgh; daughters, Vicki (Greg) Gentry, Lisa Shoemaker and Susan (Harvey) Bailey, all of Edinburgh; a brother, Lynn (Konda) Gosney of Bloomington; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Nicholas Andrew Gosney.
