Lucille C. Gilbert, 99, of Edinburgh, died at 6:48 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
She was born in Edinburgh, November 2, 1914, the daughter of the late William D. and Mary K. Dyke Clark. She married Loran "Peanut" Gilbert on July 6, 1935. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1998.
Lucille was a member of the former First Christian Church in Edinburgh. She retired from Arvin Industries in Columbus after 35 years of service. She was an avid sports fan, especially IU basketball and Colts football.
She is survived by a brother, Donald A. Clark of Edinburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by a son, Larry D. Gilbert; brothers, Maurice D., Kenneth, Walter, Harlen and Merle J. Clark; and sisters, Thelma Burton, Daisy Odem and Martha Davis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh with the Rev. Bill Leohr officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Calling will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
