Jerry A. Barnes, 56, of Lamplight Court, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at his residence.
Born July 7, 1957, in Seymour, Jerry was the son of John Richard and Irene Estes Barnes. He married Joyce Shirley January 13, 1990, in Columbus.
Jerry graduated from Crothersville High School and worked for INDOT for 23 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cornhole, and playing cards and loved spending time with his family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Jerry Barnhart and the Rev. Joe Worton officiating. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Joyce Barnes; children, Derrick R. Barnes of North Vernon, Tiffany Jo (Brock) Vorhies of Ohio, Rowdy Daniel W. Deaton of Crothersville, Robin Sue Mathis of Columbus, and Christy Ann Hibbs and Julie Marie (Ryan) Rutan, both of Columbus; his mother, Irene Barnes; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, John M. (Lynn) Barnes, David W. (Suzanne) Barnes, and Jeffrey Lynn Barnes, all of Seymour; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, John R. Barnes, and a twin brother, Garry B. Barnes.
