Joan Clark Foster Moore, 83, passed away on March 7, 2014. She was a former resident of Columbus, IN, and most recently of St. Augustine, FL. She was born to Alfred Collier Clark and Evelyn Shulthess Clark on November 29, 1930, in Norwalk, CT. She grew up in South Orange and Short Hills, NJ, graduated from Milburn High School and Berkely Secretarial School, and worked for Stevens Institute of Technology and Rutgers University School of Business and later worked as the Unit Coordinator for the American Cancer Society in Columbus.
Joan was predeceased in 1971 by her husband, Rodney H. Foster, with whom she had three children.
Joan married Donald L. Moore, who survives her, of Columbus, in 1985 and they relocated to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, in 1989. Her many activities included golf, Mah Jongg, walking the beach, singing in the church choir, reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Joan is survived by a daughter, Donna F. Stoddard (Dave) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; a daughter, Deborah F. West of Indianapolis, IN; a son, William F. Foster (Amy) of Clarks Hill, SC; a sister, Ann C. Woodrum (Ron) of Deland, FL; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with another on the way.
A memorial service was held on March 11, 2014, at Glenmoor Retirement Community in St. Augustine, FL, where Joan and Don had lived since 2006. Cremation services were conducted by Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Garland Brook Cemetary in Columbus, IN, at the family’s convenience.
