Mary Lou Tuttle, 78, of Scipio, Indiana,passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mrs. Tuttle was born on February 21, 1936, in Scipio, Indiana, the daughter of Lloyd and Leona Neal Waltermire. She married Stan Tuttle on March 10, 1984, in Hartsville, Tennessee. He survives.

Mrs. Tuttle worked for several years at O.V.O.(Ohio Valley Opportunites) in North Vernon in the Headstart and outreach program. She had previously worked for the former Regal Rugs and North Vernon Nursing Home where she was a supervisor. She attended Scipio Schools. Her enjoyments included gardening, flowers, mowing grass and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving with her husband are one son, William “Toby” (Sandy) Gilham of North Vernon, Indiana; three daughters, Vicki (Dennis) Wilson of Lovett, Indiana, Pam Robbins of North Vernon, Indiana, and Debra Stout-Stringer of Scipio, Indiana; two stepsons, William (Amy) Tuttle of Petersville, Indiana, and Dennis (Angie) Tuttle of Scipio, Indiana; five brothers, William Jack (Tina) Waltermire, Jimmy (Kay) Waltermire and Lloyd (Carolyn) Waltermire, all of North Vernon, Indiana, Albert (Minnie) Waltermire of Scipio, Indiana, and Leonard “Peno” (Vinetta) Waltermire of Florida; six sisters, Betty Wilder and Flora Jean Taylor, both of Scipio, Indiana, Anna M. Douglas of Elizabethtown, Indiana, Sue Miller of Seymour, Indiana, Carolyn (Donnie) Allman of North Vernon, Indiana, and Toni (Larry) Dorsey of Texas; nineteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Jacqulyn Gilham; and four brothers, Little Bill Ramey, Robert Joe Waltermire, Alan Poe Waltermire and Kenneth Wayne Waltermire.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon, Indiana, with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday, March 21, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption of Jennings County or Butlerville Mennonite Church.
