Jo Helen Russell, 83, of Edinburgh, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was born October 26, 1930, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Eddie Walton Tuck and Beatrice (Seagraves) Tuck.
Mrs. Russell retired in 1995 after 35 years of service at Amos Hill in Edinburgh, retiring as an office clerk. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the piano and gospel music. She especially enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include her children, Brenda Kay Harmon (Wallace) of Edinburgh, Mary Kathryn Tompkins (Rev. Randy) of Byrdstown, Tennessee, Martha Karen Orner of Edinburgh, Peggy Burton of Edinburgh, Deborah Parker (Bobby) of Shelbyville, IN, and Joey Russell (Vickie) of Edinburgh; a brother, Jerry Tuck (Rosalind) of Albany, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and two expected great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eddie Russell, on October 6, 1953; a granddaughter, Amy Marie Harmon; and a sister, Betty Clark.
The Reverend Randy Tompkins will conduct a service Friday, March 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
