Geraldine C. Beery, 91, of Greenville, Ohio, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at her daughter's home in Columbus, IN.
Geraldine, along with her husband, was owner and operator of Beery Type Service in Dayton, Ohio, and was previously employed at DP&L in Dayton. Geraldine volunteered at Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio, from 1987 to 2013. She was a member of Fort Jefferson United Methodist Church in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. April 4, 2014, at Fort Jefferson United Methodist Church and a private family service will be at Spring Valley Cemetery in Spring Valley, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayne Hospital Auxiliary in Greenville, Ohio, or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
Born in Pittsburg, Kansas, Feb. 13, 1923, Geraldine was the daughter of Max Compton and Lucille Thomas Compton. She married Robert E. Beery Oct. 15, 1948. He preceded her in death July 30, 2003.
Survivors include daughters, Robin (Dusty) Knoef, Columbus, IN, and Sandra Beery, Greenville, OH; sisters, Shirley Dill and Loraine Crawford, both of Xenia, OH; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Knoef and Gary Knoef, both of Columbus, IN, and Jennifer (Eric) Parrish, Westfield, IN; great-grandchildren, Austin Musgraves, Maggie Knoef, Tyler and Ethan Knoef, and Toby and Kayleigh Parrish; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brothers, Marvin, Bud and Donald Compton.
