Louis W. Jackson, 85, of Elizabethtown, passed away at 9:02 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Community South Hospice Care in Indianapolis, IN.
Louis retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1991 after 35 years of service. He also served in the Corps of Engineers in the U.S. Army.
He was born October 14, 1928, in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Alva and Gertrude (Campbell) Jackson.
He married Betty (George) Jackson on July 22, 1967, at Wilson Chapel Christian Union Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, and their dog, Buddy, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers, Loren Jackson, Kenneth Jackson and Paul Eugene Jackson; and his sister, Irma Michael, who died on March 20, 2014, in Las Vegas, NV.
There will be no services. Mr. Jackson’s wishes were to be cremated.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
